I’ve made my choice of the 4 bachelors, which one to go with…

Last time I posted, I was dating 4 men and had a favorite.

Before I tell you who I ended up with, I’ll go through each one and why it didn’t work out.

Italian Ian was one of my favorites. He had a family situation come up, but generally tried to make time for me with FT dates. One of those FT dates was bizarre. He seemed annoyed by me and would criticize me slightly. I felt befuddled after.

But that’s not what disqualified him as a potential suitor…

In a previous conversation, he mentioned he was going to go on vacation to Italy to visit family there. Coincidentally he was also going to see his ex-girlfriend, whom he was also going to stay with (as well as her family). To me that reads as messy. And I didn’t want to get involved in any kind of messy not-yet-finished relationship.

So Italian Ian was out of the picture.

Next, we have Nurse Ned.

Nurse Ned and I went on one fabulous date. He was kind, we had similar political views, and laughed a lot. BUT something he was adamant about was that he wanted his partner to be financially responsible for 50% of the family expenses.

Controversial or not, that’s not something I’m interested in. I don’t see myself taking care of household labor, childcare, AND providing for 50% of the bills. I absolutely want to keep working on my business, but I do NOT want the expectation to be to provide 50/50 while simultaneously caring for children, cooking, and so on.

So, Nursing Ned was out of the picture.

The third contender to have been outted was Gentlemanly Gary. We had a great first date, but as mentioned in S2 E1, he was just starting a religious journey which I wasn’t sure would mesh well with my life. While I am religious, I am by no means a hardcore Christian (no judgment, it’s just not my thing).

I, ironically, took him with me to a church event, where he simultaneously met my brother and father. My brother commented later on the fact that Gary was boring. My dad couldn’t disagree and said we had negative chemistry (can’t exactly disagree). After, Gary and I went out for tea/coffee and the conversation was so lacking that I had my mom call me with an “emergency”. I cut the date short and was happy to be back home.

So clearly this leaves only one more contender — Neuro Nick.

Where do I stand with him? And what has happened since?

The short answer is: he asked me to be exclusive in February. He met my entire family. We traveled together to Europe last month. And we are officially a couple. He invited me to attend a family members’ wedding (I can’t go), and in the summer he’ll be traveling with me to Europe again to join me on a vacation to visit family.

Am I glossing over a lot of events in between? Absolutely. But I’ll divulge in Dating Diaries S2 E3.

Toodles,

Bella
